The Consumer Electronics Association: 2012 National “Demo Days” Events Designed to Build Your Business

National Demo Days:

Events are a great way to build business. To run an event on your own however, can cost over $5K in marketing expenses alone. A key benefit to CEA membership is open participation in CEA’s national promotions - working together, everyone can run events cost effectively and still get the full power of the experience to generate sales. In 2011, the CEA “3DTV Demo Days” promotion was very successful for the more than 100 dealers that participated. These events drove business: 
...61% of dealers reporting seeing an increase in store traffic and inquiries
...68% of shoppers expressed interest in the technology
...and 1 in 4 shoppers made a purchase.

The 2012 program is going to be even bigger. Mark your advertising calendars now and get ready to participate in the 2012 CEA-sponsored “Demo Days” national retail promotions. These events will target consumers, inviting them to visit their local retailer’s showroom to experience the new “Connected TV” and big screen, surround-sound home theater. The third event will focus on the digital music experience. Consumers can see, hear and touch the products. You make the sale!

“Demo Days” I: July 20-22 The London Olympic Experience
This year’s Olympic summer games in London, beginning July 27th, will televise many of the sporting events online-perfect for viewing with a new “Connected TV!” The pageantry and the competition will jump-off the big screen and the surround-sound will enhance emotional impact.

“Demo Days” II: August 17-19 Fall Into Football
The 2012 football season kicks off with preseason games starting in August and the college ball in full swing. What better way to catch the big games with friends and family than with a new big-screen, surround-sound home theater. Show consumers how they can catch all the action across different devices - even on the go!

“Demo Days” III: September 14-16 The Complete Digital Music Experience
Tell consumers to “bring their own device.” No matter what device, demonstrate the complete digital music experience and show ways to upgrade that experience with better headphones, speakers-even a full audio system. And, don’t forget gaming!

Program Overview:
 CEA is preparing a major marketing platform for your benefit, funding a national advertising campaign and all related creative elements for use by participating dealers (including digital marketing assets for email, Facebook, and web, as well as traditional marketing assets for print ad, poster, and direct mail). This comprehensive “toolkit” can be co-branded with your logo and customized for your use to promote the demo days locally in your market. You can also increase awareness with optional direct mail, print advertising, and digital ad campaigns.
